We talk a lot about complementary and alternative cancer therapies at the EuroMed Foundation as one of the fundamental principles of our holistic approach to cancer treatment. Our wide-ranging complementary therapies and supplements are tailored to address each patient’s individual needs, to help enhance the immune system and overall health.
But these same therapies and supplements can be used by people at home, and not necessarily while under the supervision of our EuroMed staff during a treatment program. That’s because, in addition to being effective as part of an alternative cancer treatment protocol, they provide many preventive benefits and can be incorporated into people’s everyday lives.
In this blog post, we’ll take a brief look at a few of these therapies and supplements and provide links to videos on EuroMed’s YouTube channel that feature staff members who specialize in certain therapies.
Sound Therapy: Vibrations created by various sound frequencies can help with a variety of issues that may weaken our immune systems. Sound therapy helps relieve depression, stress, anxiety, and other symptoms associated with a compromised immune system.
Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy plays an important role by also relieving stress and anxiety. Researchers found in one study that lavender essential oil produced positive responses in all of the participants, whose pulse rates and blood pressure decreased. Additionally, they reported lower levels of pain, anxiety, and depression. The body absorbs the oils either by breathing them in or absorbing them through the skin via baths, compresses, and massage.
Vitamin C: Ascorbic acid — vitamin C — is one of the most important nutrients associated with cancer prevention. Vitamin C is an integral part of the immune system and is critical for the synthesis of compounds important to a person’s overall health, including neurotransmitters, collagen, and several amino acids. It’s also an important antioxidant that improves the health of the circulatory system. Vitamin C is found in peppers, guavas, kiwi fruit, and tomatoes.
Liver Extract: Containing vitamin B12, folic acid, and iron, liver extract is a versatile supplement that supports the liver and stimulates the immune system, which helps inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It’s long been used as a complementary therapy for alternative cancer treatments. Liver extract is also well known for stimulating the production of red blood cells.
